I had one livewell pump(Rule 500 gph) acting up on me while on vacation. It worked most of the time but at times it was really making a terrible noise. I took it out and cleaned it up and it works great. In the meantime, I have added a Mayfair Pump(750 gph) and am replacing the other Rule Pump(500gph) with a similar Mayfair. I will keep the two Rule pumps as backups. Are the bigger Mayfair Pumps going to cause me any problems????

Shouldn't. Just remember they draw a little more amperage off your cranking battery.

Mal - Did/do they fit OK? I had a tough time getting the one on the passenger site to fit. I does work great, I went with the Mayfair 500gph pumps, but a tight fit.

What do you mean by "cleaned it up"? Did you clean out anything from the inside or what?

That Targa 1900 is HUGE compared to my 175. I too had to take the batteries out but in a small boat like mine not a lot of room. The hose fittings were the same size, problem was VERY little room in the bottom of the bilge between the back of the transom and the shelf for the batteries.
