Oops O.K. First off, thanks to Dan Jorgenson for the

info. on my "I Finally Got it Part 1 & 2" threads. My main question, I have 2002 896 with 200 XR6, with 24 tempest plus prop, had slow hole shot, buddy of mine told me to take one of the rubber plugs out of prop. Hole shot much better, but is it safe to run to plugs in, one plug out?

Robert,

I was told by a mercury mechanic that mercury said no to 2 plugs because it upsets the balance and can cause premature shaft bearing failure, but i know guys that have been doing it for years without a single problem.

Robert,

That's what they are there for...hole shot. You can buy them in three sizes (I think) so in essence what you do is take one out and put in another...with a smaller or larger hole size. you can try many different combinations to increase your performance.
