The aluminum lid braces on the livewell and rear compartment on my 1993 Pro 17 have started to break loose from the lids. Is there any fix for this short of drilling through the lids and reattaching with stainless steel nuts and bolts?

Maybe replace with lid springs or gas shocks---both available from Cabela's...

Tim, my previous boat was a '92 TX-17 and it had the same storage lids, but never had this problem. I think you are talking about the lid stiffeners that are tack welded to the bottom of the lid. If this is the case, you could look at having them spot welded back in place. I'm not sure if this would harm the carpet on the other side, so you might need to remove it. Bolts and nuts should work as well, just would not look as good. I don't think the welding would cost too much.
