I have a 1999 pro deep v16 and this year I am getting some water in the bottom. Has anyone else had any troble with loose rivets or leaking hull?

Thanks

jerry

on a 99? My buddy has a 90 Deep V 16 and it don't leak a drop. You might want to check to see if any of the fittings are leaking or whether your livewell hoses could be leaking also. I thought I had a leak until I seen one of the hoses to the well was leaking...tightened it up and viola!

Also you can fill it up with water from the inside and check for leaks..if it's gettin' in...it can get out.

Jerry,

I have a 2000 Prodeep17. I had water accumulating from the almost the get-go. Finally after about 1 year, I put the plug in while the boat was on the trailer and ran a hose into the bilge and started filling her up. A minute later the pop rivets that hold the drain plug mount started to leak like crazy. Drilled out the rivets, put sealer on the plug mount and through bolted the whole thing. No more water in the bilge except from rain or swimmers.

david....

I ran into the same problem as David last summer. I was taking on a little water each time so I did what he did - filled the boat up on the trailer, and sure enough the bottom of the drain plug mount had gotten scraped against the sand when i'd beached her in a heavy wind. I just dryed the area and applied some waterproof silicone and not a DROP in bildge again.

Try filling it up and see where it might be leaking out, check the fittings before you assume it's a rivet.

It's ruined, useless. Junk it and buy a glass boat. No more leaky hulls or loose rivets. Actually Jerry, I did have loose rivets on my '97 V-16. Take it to a shop, chances are that some integral rivets that hold stringers and ribs might have loosened too which means you can fix or patch all the water tight ones you want, they'll just loosen again from the excessive flexing until the stringer gets fixed. Don't risk it, get it looked at. When my shop was done with my old hull, it was better than when Tracker let it leave the factory. But I won't go there! LOL

Rob - Wouldn't it be better for Jerry to FIRST find out WHERE the leak is comming from? If it's just a drain plug rivit or plumbing leak, why take it to a shop? Why do you assume that "chances are that some integral rivets that hold stringers and ribs might have loosened too"? Is there a design/quality issue with the 99 V-16?

Just wondering?

Rob..I have one for ya'... My 94 Pro Team had two rivets completely missing on the bottom. Took it to BPS to see what kind of trade in I'd get. The guy looks at it....writes the trade in up @$3500 so I went with the deal.

After I gave them a little static about the boat and trailer and tryin' to get a new one from Tracker..they claimed THEY did not know about the leaky rivets. I told em..TOO BAD>>SO SAD...the deal was done and THEY had to eat it! It was still settin' on their lot 3 months later..
