At out latest Bass club meeting it was brought to our attention that New York state now has a lead ban on fishing weights. Our Pa. club fishes in western New York on Lake Chautauqua, great lake to fish. Plan on fishing the BFL there this fall.

Now for my question?

I am going to be fishing Douglas Lake in Tenn. and Lake Jordan in N.C. the last week in March. Is there any special reglations that I need to be aware of in these two states or bodies of water? Any general info on these lakes would be great. Thanks again to Don for the info on Douglas.

Yep, in both states, you can't fish unless you got a wad of "chaw" in your cheek :).

New York State recently passed legistation that will prohibit the sale of certain lead sinkers. Begining in 2004,the sale of lead fishing sinkers (including"split shot")weighting one-half ounce or less will not be permitted.
