Well I finally got a kitten last night. Had to drive almost 40 miles 1 way to get one for free. Hmmmm.... 15 mpg......80 miles......2 hours lost....maybe I SHOULD pay for a cat! LOL Anyway, got the lil bugger home. She's 6 weeks old and this is the first time she'd been out of the house let alone, away from her mother and siblings. Well, we kinda bonded on the way home. I figure SHE adopted ME as her momma! LOL My wife cracked up, she followed me everywhere, then had to sleep with me so she wouldn't cry all night. So today when I left, my wife says, she cried all day. Then amongst a VERY busy day, I get this voicemail from my wife,

"Rob, the kitten cried all day today while you were gone...."(think ya know where this is going? NOT!)

"Your mom and I think if we had....her little sister, (YEAH......TWO cats!) that she would be happier!"

Mayday...whoooooa, not what I intended. Quick call home....ABORT mission!

"Your mom is already on the way to get her....."

Mission failure!

So I'm well rounded....

1 wife

2 kids

2 dogs

2 cats

what's next? Never mind.

2 boats????? YEAH baby!

With my luck, more like 2 birds or 2 fish tanks or.....nevermind. I need a drink!!! I'm a DOG person, now I got this lil fuzzball following me around and cramping me in my own bed. NOT WHAT I SIGNED UP FOR. It was SUPPOSED to be the kid's cat!!!

Congratulations Rob, so what are their names and when do we get to see pics of the babies?

Cass :)

The kids named the first one Midnight Moon, she's black with a little tuft of white fur on her chest. Midnight for short. The new one, dunno. Ain't been home yet. But it was a fuzzy lil bugger, so probably something like fuzzy. Their first name last night was...no lie.....sqeaky meow mouth. Man, this sounds like a stand up episode of Dennis Leary!

I don't have a digital camera, but will have some friends over this weekend that will. I'll try to post some.

Rob: 1 of my cats is named Squeaker (no I did not name him) I found him at work 1 day some ba$tard had put a whole bag of kittens in the dumpster and he was the only 1 that got out. He was so sick and bloated when I brought him home. I had put him in a box for the ride home (my X promised to find him a good home) that was 5 years ago. He got out of the box and rode home on my shoulder while I drove. Now at 13 lbs he still climbs on my shoulder any time I sit down and it suits him. But I let him out and he will come back when I call across the yard meowing all the way tell he gets back to daddy. He also like to play with scum frogs. I dehooked 1 and practice my pitching and flipping with him.

My wife and I have seven of the little

rascals.Sweety,Sassy,Snow,Pepper,Kitt Kat,

Chi Chi and Thomas.Kitt Kat was only about

4 weeks old when I found him in the middle

of Atlanta Highway at lunch time.He had been

hit already but on 3 legs he was still fast

for a big boy like me.With hazard lights

flashing and playing traffic cop I got him.

My wife and I with some help from the vet

(he did not charge us anything for fixing a

broke leg and chopping of his dead tail)

we have a 3 year old 12lb. solid black cat

with no tail. You would never know he had a

broke leg.

Stinkin' quick fingers. Just to let you know Rob, 9 years ago we picked up a skinny, wet, wild, barn cat from our sister-in-law in Kentucky for our then 4 year oldd daughter. Cat hated everything about domestic life, especially me for 5 years. Then all of a sudden this monster turns into the poster cat for the humane society. Go figure. LOL. 15 pounds now, and belongs like the mailbox.

The Tigger has had me for about 10 years now..... He allows me to make a lap for him anytime I'm on the computer, at my desk or watching tv..... He's trained me to give him Pounce cat treats twice a day - once in the morning before I make my coffee and once in the evening before I make my dinner. Even trained me to buy only the tuna ones by spitting out any other flavor on the kitchen floor..... He allows me to have friends over and he greets them at the door to let them know they are welcome in his home..... As a reward for my good behavior, he keeps my ears warm at night and allows me to play in his sandbox every coupla days!

Your doomed man. Cat's live forever you'll have em long after your kids are grown and leave the house. I wanted to name ours Bullseye and Bullet but had to settle for Callie and Toby. Nothing like a cat fight in the living room at two in the morning to get your juices flowing. BTW a boat with a $300 cover is the best scratching post available. The next best thing are the vinyl seats.

Well, the black has definately adopted me. She was REAL ornery with everyone last night once the new kitty got there. Took her all of 20 hours to determine, "MY house!". LOL Typical woman! But I'm the only one that can pet her when she has her little spitting and hissing fits. Then whenever I walk around the house (trying to get stuff done for my open house party this weekend) she's right there, under my feet. So here I am, trying not to step on this 1/2 lb runt and crush the life out of her. So I'm tripping and stumbling like my foot hit a brick.

And scratching posts......this kitty ain't figured out that that's NOT what my toes are for!

My grandmother stayed the night last night and was sitting in the rocking chair reading. I asked where the cats were and she says, "Right here."

One was asleep on her shoulder, and the other down between her leg and the chair. Both happy as could be. And she didn't put them there. They kept climbing up on their own, even if we moved them. Anyone that knows my Gram can picture that one.

Our cat is the same way.....he let's me rub his belly and he's very affectionate....but he attacks the girls and my wife occasionally...he'll just do a "biff and run" or he'll jump and bite their feet when they walk by,.....cracks me up, but he doesn't do that at all to me......he's cool with Daddy!!..LOL

My little badarse Tomcat still has his claws intact an ONLY wants attention when HE wants it! He still knows who's king though...I all I have to do is raise my voice and he's GONE! He's about 15 years old now and still aunry as ever:)

Get em'a scratchin' post Rob...they'll eventually figure out what it's for. Sure saved my furniture...

BTW..Mac...I've trained mine to attack the ol' woman when she gets him all riled up:) Years ago we took a vacation for about two weeks and when we came back..he was NOT happy! (I guess he figured that's too long)...Next thing I know he's attacking! At first I scolded him..Then I thought...I can get the upper hand here:) It's hilarious!!..He don't break the skin or anything(I can get him off of her with one word) but, he acts like he the baddest dude around...neck and back all puffed up with his mouth open after an attack...Hilarious!

Mine is also trained to FETCH! NO LIE! He has a little multi-colored ball that I started throwin' when he was a kitten...Next thing I know ..he's bringin' it back in his mouth! He's too much:)

Do your self a favor and get a lazer pointer The cats will chase the dot anywhere! I laughed my self silly at a friends house. It's especially fun to put the dot on someone else's leg and watch they're reaction when the cat attacks. It's the only thing I've found cats are good for. Don't worry about naming them, they won't come when you want them anyway.

Gene

Gene is exactly right about the laser

pointer! Our cats even know the jingle

the key ring makes that the laser pointer

hangs on .They hear the jingle and their

ready to play!

Lazer pointersw are great in fish tanks, too.....

The fish chase the dot all over the place!

Since he NEVER goes outside, The Tigger has had all his claws removed. (And other items!) Once you've had an INSIDE cat with no claws, you'll never have it any other way.

Have you ever wondered why there isn't mouse flavored cat food?

And why isn't there cat flavored dog food?

;>)
