ken,craig,or doug,i just got my pa fish and boat comm handbook with my registration.inside is a little chart with the hull ident #s(hin),and how to decode it,the 1st 3 are the manufacturers code,buj,which means tracker,the next 5 are the production or serial #,the next 2,month,year of production,and last 2 are model year.so if a hin is buj*****k293,this boat would have been made in nov 92,with a model year 93,right?wasnt the 92 magna series prone to the bowcap cracking,such as mine did?i also found on the coast guards website for boat recals about the pedistal seat mounts in my series boat prone to cracking due to faulty welds,but when i questioned tracker on this,they didnt know anything about it.i guess the person who was in charge of this,who by the way is not with tracker anymore was supposed to take care of it,as i have one that did crack and had to replace it on my dime.wondering if you can look into this for me and see what can be done with it,as when i am replacing the decks,i do NOT wish to pull them up again to replace the mounts again.

Does this mean my '93 might have some "issues"? Where is the Coast Guard site that you looked at for recal;ls?



By the way, I brought her home last night...a little lighter in the wallet. But, not nearly as much as it could have been. The mechanic that did the work www.ropeoutboard.com is very good. He is located near me in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Anybody "close" should keep him in mind. He is a former employee of OMC (now retired), does excellent work that he guarantees for 12 months!!!!



Anyway, while I have it in the garage for some "work" I'll get your decal photos. I'm off today so if I get through with some of my "honey-dos" I may even try photos today.

i have to look in my other computer for the link,it isnt in this one.the recall is on the seat pedistals,the bow splitting i heard from a former employee of tracker i met on a webboard.when i find the link,ill pass it on.

I haven't been able to get any info for you...sorry...but go ahead and replace the mounts while you have the deck up just for peace of mind.
