ok i ordered a black keel shield 7' long. and wanted a measurement from how far the keel shield is down from the eye hook for the winch. as my boat is new and has only seen the water twice i washed away the water line just wanted to see where yall installed yours! thanks!!!

Thank's for the advice TOXIC. I have been thinking about getting one for a long time!

I wouldn't have a rig without one installed. Not only for beaching (which I didn't do that much of) but for running. Any stick, branch, tree, rocks (heaven forbid) etc., that you hit while running, will chip/gouge your keel even if they are small. The Potomac river is FULL of flotsam/jetsam all of the time but worse after a rain. Not to mention road debris thrown up while trailering. Pick the one of your choice and get it on your keel. Although there are a few manufacturers out there obviously, I am a little biased to the KeelShield and as a reminder, email me when you are ready to purchase (KeelShield or any product on their site) and I'll get you a deal.;)

absolutely love my keelshield! I have had some old clunkers before that had beat up keels and now I never see a thing. Amazing how it stays adhered. I never considered the flotsam stuff but recently after a good storm we noticed floating logs and limbs everywhere. Best product I've ever sunk my money into with this boat and boy is that boat a money magnet!
