I've been wondering if some type of keel protection is needed for an aluminum hull?

i have never had an issue and i beach mine all the time. If the hull is painted i would consider it but if its bare alum, why?

It may not be worth it for my '91 thats all beat up already, but if I had a new 2005 with a painted hull......

Click on the sponsors button on the left side of the page, and check out Keelshield.

A keelshield can provide more protection for your boat than just when your beeching it. Consider hitting a piece of submerged debre with sharp edges at any speed. Just a thought!

And on "U" shaped docks in the wind. And while trailering. By all means check out the KeelShield and save some scratch over the others. Any ?'s email me. They will go on tin.

Not only will they go on tin, but they look great. We installed on e on a blue PT 185...the color match was perfect - it looked great!
