Andy & I just got back from the tackle show. I went ahead and stepped up and bought the Falcon 6'4" spinnerbait special and a Shimano Currado SF. The rod was on sale for $79 and the reel for $129. Got the free Falcon cap and a little hook box to boot. Talked to the Berkley rep and he gave me a free spool of Ironsilk.

Also talked to Shonn Goodwins brother who told me that all Red River Spinnerbaits are hand assembled in Moore OK. by the whole family.

Talked to an actual Game Warden about your license problem and he said to take it back to Wal-Mart and they should void the one you've got and issue you a new one.

I guess the highlight of the show was watching Jimmy Houston sitting on a stool, eating barbque ribs, and signing autographs at the same time. WHAT A TALENT!!

Did you go fishing today? Man, if you did I give it up to you. I pumped $10 of gas and couldn't wait to get back into the car. It was WIND CHILL CITY.

Harpo,

wish i could have went fishing today but i didn't finish all the wiring on the new trollin motor yet. got the batteries in yesterday and bought froze my arse off in the garage. the wind was like you said really raw. we are lucky we didn't have an ice storm as it began misting last night late. glad you had fun at the show. you will really like that new rod n reel as the falcons have a really good feel to them. i bet jimmy eats those bbq ribs just like the rest of us okies. I can't believe an Oklahoma Game Warden cannot take care of a license error. They all acted like they would get in trouble or something. I think I spoke with 3 or 4 of them. I'm happy to know that all the taxes on fishin equipment goes so they can set up a boothe at the tackle show and they still cannot even validate a license. I bet those booth spaces go for a grand. I was thinkin of going back but decided not to as I know I would have bought that fishfinder we were looking at and bought some of those ribs and tried to eat them like jimmy. Glad you had fun and got to have a good day with Andy. That is a cool kid ya got there. I really enjoy speakin with Kirk Washburn as he is a really nice guy. If ya want, you can spool up that new curado with some of this silver thread i got and see what you think of it. i think 12,000 yds might last me a while. sure wanted to go today, but just too cold for the amount of wind. Next weekend doesn't look good either as it is supposed to be in the 30's with rain. just great. we are getting into the weather pattern where all the weekends are messed up. i guess we're lucky we aren't buried in snow. take care Harpo and enjoyed seein ya at the show.

The wardens I talked to today were in the annex to the main building, you & I didn't go in the other night. These guys were the law enforcment types with the bad attitude, not the happy smiley PR types we met Friday. Andy suggusted that you could just fill in the date yourself and I thought they were going to body slam him! He tells Andy that "THAT WOULD BE ALTERING A LICENSE AND THAT'S A FELONY". Anyway, he says you must do this through Wal-Mart, that way the paperwork is right. And we all know that the paperwork MUST be right. I think they're just PO because they wern't out fineing some poor guy $75 for posessing a fish that is 1/2" undersize.

Walmart should pay the fine for not fillin out the license properly first. I mean, to leave the YEAR of the license blank is not good for either party. Anyways, i'll go to walmart and see what they say. I probably will need the receipt for it unless they can look up the number of the license. Don't be too hard on those guys writing fines as more often than not, they are the ones that help you out when in trouble (i understand about the ego thing). I don't mind being carded unless it disturbs my fishing area. They keep the trout lines out of the lake and bass in the lake. Andy is pretty kool for a 13 yr old, I think he was tryin to take up for me. take care,
