I just talked to BPS in Gurnee and told them to go ahead with the deal. I purchased a 2003 Targa18 with a walk thru windshield. It has a 75 hp merc (all I need). I did upgrade the locator. I had them install a Humminbird 400sx+. I drop off the check after work and pick it up on Friday. Cmon Spring!!!! It will be wonderful to have a new boat but no payments!!

wait a minute...

NO PAYMENTS???

that's just not fair...

LOL

welcome aboard!

Just remember...

"A boat is a hole in the water in which we continually throw money!"

Congrats and welcome to the Tin is IN family!!

I've driven and fished out of Tex Transplant's Targa 18WT and loved it!!

Thats great and exciting.wecome home, Know your going to want to work your way UP to GLASS!! and the wonderful world of glass,,lol

Just my .02 cents worth, but are you sure you don't rather want a good Garmin (160/240) instead of that HBird???

Best of luck.

Tex

Tex - I don't think you can "upgrade" e.g. trade in for anything but the Bird's, at least that was the way it was when I bought mine. You could "BUY" any unit you wanted and they'd rig it for you, but the Bird's were starndard.

Marke - What say you??

Now it is IMPERATIVE that you register on this site and that you register for the Rally and get there... We need more tin!!!

Jamoke - Cool, don't know about the 400 series but the low end units are marginal at best. I've got a 200 series at the console and and Eagle at the bow, the Eagle is much better at definition and clarity then the bird. Enjoy the boat, you can always upgrade the Bird later if you don't like it.

Congrats on the new boat and welcome to the site. The 405 I think at least shows the true returns rather than the interpreted fish symbols. that is the right way to purchase a boat also instead of making payments forever. hope it warms up soon to.

Congratulations. Just remember, "BOAT" stands for

Break

Out

Another

Thousand ($$$)!

It is nice to own a boat outright, rather than simply borrowing it from the bank now and then.

I did register for the site. I just forgot to put in my password before my last post. I am at my work computer so it did not automatically log me on. I have a buddy that owns a Tracker and he upgraded his HBird as well. I went one model above what he uses (you all know how that goes lol) and it does show the true returns as well as temp and speed.

Where and when is the Rally??

AAALLLL RIGHT....got me another one...and I ain't lettin' him go! FISH ON!!!!!

TEE

Jamoke - check the "Home" link on the upper left of this page, then click the "2003 NTOWS Rally Information".

No, Rob. It's B.O.A.T. every time you take it out, especially with gas prices where they are!! LOL!

And, for me, its a B.O.A.T. every time I go into BPS!!

(Lessee, a new Lowarance X-15 for the console and a Garmin GPSMap176 for the OTHER side of the console...oh, yeah,... a Mercury Tempest Plus Stainless steel prop!...and, uh, honey, come look at these power pedestals for the rear and middle fishing seats!...whaddaya think about a new Gore-Tex rainsuit? Mine's gettin' kinda ragged, dontcha think?....HEY, lookee here!.............)

Not only is "no payments" not fair.....

It's downright un-American!

Congrats, Jamoke!

Hope you'll come to the Rally!

me!

DON'T tell my wife about that no payments thing. She'll expect me to actually save money for the next one. If there is a next one.

Hey Tim if you want to have some real fun, start a new message, tittle it "Tin or Glass- which is better?" and sit back and watch the fireworks.

Welcome to the board, it's a great replacment for a life.

Harpo

Congrats, hope your experience with Gurnee goes as well as mine did, and.......enjoy that boat! But what's with the "no payments" bit? That's not fair! LOL egMike
