Is it normal to open a bin lid and get a brief whiff of oil/gas? All of the boats I've run before this one had portable tanks and used pre-mixed oil, so it wasn't an issue. Last night, I was working on the rear deck locks, and noticed a gasoline-like smell. It went away quickly after I opened the hatch.

The outboard is also tilted up, so it's possible that I'm just smelling some of the gas left in the carbs when I get near the boat.

Mo, check for gas line leaks just to be safe. But mine smells like.....well lots of stuff including gas, but it's an '89. She's had 13 years to acquire that aroma! LOL

Thanks, Rob! I'll do a visual on the entire system tonight. If I don't find a leak, I'll stop worrying. The boat goes into the local dealer tomorrow to fix an inoperative timer or auto switch on the livewell. If I have a leak, I'll have him take care of that, too.

By the way, nice pictures that Marke posted. You may get another customer one of these days. I'll try and twist my wife's arm to let us come up to the Northeast with the boat! Those are just some awesome fish.
