I'm fixin' to install a keel gaurd on my 911, adhesives make me nervous. If any one has any suggestions I would be grateful.

Thanks.

Jon, I installed one on my last boat, it was the Hamby's light. Prep time was about 45 minutes (yes scuffing my hull made me nervous) but all in all it cam out great and was easy to do. Looked great on the boat and was real nice for beaching the boat at the ramp when you are alone.

I have not gotten around to doing my new 882 yet, When I do I will get the heavy duty and have it professionally installed.

Mark,

I was wondering,Why would you have the heavy duty one professionaly installed?

I got the KeelGuard 5" wide 7' model.

Thanks

I did my own on my 882.

Was not as hard as I thought it would be (I had my brother and father helping).

We held it up and marked with a pencil where the outline was... Then I scuffed it up with the provided pad. I made the scuff marks a little larger then the guard (I wanted the edges to stick well!).

Last I applied the adhesive and put the guard in place slowly. Two of us worked it on, the other stood in front and guided us to make sure we stayed straight.

Mark and Keith,

Thanks guys. I took your advice and installed it this morning. using the pencil marks really helped. It was fairly easy, If I was Lil Jon it would have been a lot easier.

Jon, Which brand of keel guard did you get? I have been thinking of doing this to my 700 LX.
