Well, it has happened again. I have a letter from my local State Representative that details the following information...

In our recent state budget process, despite legisaltion to the contrary (these are earmakred funds)...

$401,824 was taken from the State Safe Boating Act to fund general state expenses. These are funds collected from registration fees and other income stipulated under the State Boating Act to be used only for for the construction and improvement of boating facilities, administration, and boat safety and boat safety education.

$177,801 was raided from the Illinois Beach Marina Fund. These dollars are collected by the DNR through the operation of the marina. These monies are to be used for the care and maintenance of the Marina, not to balance a bad state budget.

We have a Governor, "Blago" that thinks he can do anything he pleases because his party controls both houses of the state legislature. But, this is one step way over the line... This defies state law and takes our $$$$ and uses them where they are not to be used and then to compound this he closes hatcheries and lays off DNR workers. He has to be stopped... Please write your legistators and complain.

which Is he republican or democrat???

Blago is a Democrat (or is that "demo-rat")... They control both houses and the Gov's office so they just run thje state anyway that plesaes them...

They tried to pull this crap in Mass a couple of years ago. gov Romney planned to pull funds from fish and game lisc sales and also pull federal grants given to fish and game for habitat improvement until the federal government got wind of it and stopped it in its tracks. From what i read they threatened to pull all federal highway and school funding from the state.

Romney is Republican btw

This is not a "partisan" issue... This is an ethical one... If they can ignore this law what is next...

Yep i agree with you Greg.

Stuff like this just renforces my belief that all politicians are scum regardless of party affiliation.

Well I am voting against every single person who Is In office now..I want a new start..Some of these jokers have been In there since before I was born,ANd that was a VERRRRYY Long time ago...We need new people I don't care how thay have done the old ones need to gol,,,Both republican and demos.......JR

Come on, Greg. Where's your sense of compassion? You think it's easy being a snivelling, lying, thieving, low-life politiician?

It' so much easier stealing from sportsman who pay regulatory dues, than it is appealing to voters whose money you've squandered on ever-expanding government bloat.

JR...

I "almost" agree with you... But, and, it is a very big "but"... We need experienced elected officials who are also honest and ethical... They are the only thing that can protect us from the BIGGEST government evil that there is... THE ENTRENCHED BUREAUCRAT... The government is extremely complex and a bunch of new faces will just get the runa round for years from the "weasels" sitting at all those desks...

Your right but some of these guy's are already bought and at least the new one's will go for awhile then we vote them out...:(

Pa.'s lawmakers take the cake.

They voted to give themselves a 16 to 34% pay raise, effective immediately, not next term as the law states, but RIGHT NOW !!

And in the same session voted not to pick up the tab for life insurance policies for National Guardsmen fighting overseas.
