The ice is 6-7 inches thick and time to put holes in the ice and see what we can catch, if the wind slows.

Yellow Perch and Eye's are what we are after.

Water is to hard for my boat.

I'm over outside of Chicago, -14 with wind right now. You have an ice shack?

Layers, layers, layers. Use to fish in northern WI in the winter. Usually used tip ups and then sat in the car with the heat on and binoculars and then went hauling across the ice when the flags popped up. Was pretty funny at times. But must say I really enjoyed the fresh fish in the winter. Let us know how it goes.

Enjoy, I'll probably be doing the same thing this weekend.

Suppose to be a heat wave, in the 20's Saturday. We have about 18'' ice now on Black Lake here in New York. Everyone is driving on now with their vehicles. So like Barb said, put in the tip ups and sit in a nice warm vehicle.
