I had to replace the seal on the axle. One of the edges wore out and was leaking grease. I bought a kit that had everything, the bearings ect. But I need two more seals and I cannot find the double eged kind. Any suggestions ? Thanks guys

if you still have your old seals take them to an autoparts store. Go to a good one liek a car quest or napa and they should be able to get you one via the numbers stamped on the seal. I got mine this year from my local car quest and they are trhe same seal as the original ones installed on my trailer, but were about a third the cost.

Musky,

I dont know what boat or treailer you have but i just got 2 for the trailer under my 882, they are National seals #473317, any auto parts place should have them or be able to cross that # to what they carry

Get the replacement from West Marine or Boats US. I know I am going to get contrary opinions on this but seals you buy at places other than marine dealers may or may not work. I learned this the hard way. Take one of the old seals to a marine supply house and get ones the samr size. You know they will work

Pauleye, an autoparts store can get you the same exact seal that the marine store can but for much less. theres really nothing special about the seals on our trailers at all most are the same seals you find on cars. my trailer has ufp disk brake axles on it and from the factory it uses a national seal #473317, a national #473317 is a national #473317 no matter where you buy it. the only difference is the auto parts store charges about $10 less per seal and they dont come in a fancy box that says marine on it. the seals for my traler cost over 25 bucks from a marine place and the same seal cost me less then 5 for the set from an autoparts store.

take the seal # for both seals to your auto parts dealer like jim says. they can cross reference the #'s and get you seals a lot cheaper than a marine dealer.
