Well, that furry beast said at least 6 more weeks of winter.

I can't tell you how much it hurts to watch fishing shows. Ice fishing is no substitute either. Worst of all No more Football. Febuary and March are the cruelest months of the year in the Northeast. We still have 2+ feet of snow. I think I'm going mad? Outdoor shows only make matters worse. How many times can you go thru you tackle and sharpen hooks until you need to be committed?

Any Cures? I can't go south so I'm stuck in NH

I feel your pain Dave, but there is arena football. It's definately better than the XFL flunk. Besides, we're having our February thaw.....it's 35 right now! I'm ready to dig out my shorts! LOL But alas, it will be back below 0 before the week is out. And should you go mad, know this, you won't do it alone. We'll all be in the rubber padded rooms right beside you!

Rick, be careful respooling too soon, (February) as you line will have a while to develop a memory on the reel. I usually wait until April and the week before I intend to go out. And then spray it with conditioner anyway. I also change again mid season or sooner if needed.

I usually wait until I lose my first fish and then re-spool that night!!!!!

It's amazing how a 45 degree day in April when the Ice is out seems like a warm spell and you hit the lake. Take that same day in Nov and you don't want to go out.

It was 50 degrees here last night at midnight....STRONG south wind....

Mini

I respool in the end of march and wax and wax and wax and drool over fishin for the next 2-3 weeks and wait for the water to thaw.---------Boring

I hate winter, too. Hard to decide between Lake Fork for schooling hawgs, or Ray Roberts for sandies, or Lake Fork for slab crappie, or Gilmer for new/uneducated fish, or Martin Creek for early spawning power-plant fish, or Lewisville for crappie....

Decisions, decisions! I hate winter...
