How to add trim fluid

Sorry if this has been covered but my search results are coming up vague. I have a 2003 Mercury Opti 225. The power trim up/down gradually got weaker and now won't lift motor. Thank God I got it to lift one last time to load boat. I've noticed an oil slick in the water around the boat the last couple times out. Looking at the motor from the back, I have a white nylon bolt on the left and a recessed slotted plug on the right side of the assembly. Can anyone tell me which one to add fluid to? And how the hell to set that safety bracket to keep the motor tilted all the way up? I can't get mine to flip up by using that knob that says "lock" Thanks in advance..

The bracket you need to push in then turn when the motor is fully up. I would be more concerned about where the fluid went before adding more.
