The carpet is pretty tired in this 1800FS. How hard is it to recarpet all of the aluminum hatches and decks? It looks pretty tedious. Any ideas/ suggestions would be appreciated!

Ben -

I did it once on a 20 year old boat. You're right - it is tedious. It's not at all difficult, just very time consuming. No short cuts to it. If the rest of your boat is in good condition, it will be well worth the time and effort!

me!

found this site about carpeting which might help out. I thinkin about doing mine this winter.

bassboatcarpets.com

seams like they have kits with the glue, instructions, and that kind of stuff. Probably around $200 for like a 17 or 18 foot bass boat.

hope it helps.

Ben,

I tried the 23P aluminum. Better trim control but on 46MPH prop turns at 5200 which is perfect.

I think that a 22P 3 blade stainless would put me near 50 mph.

Cool Dave. My motor wants 55-5800 rpm, so I'm gonna have to fiddle with it. First thing I'm gonna try is raising the motor up the remaining 2 notches, which should set the prop shaft about 4" below the pad. I've got an aluminum 13x19 prop on it now, so I'll start there.

That site is done by the Storm boat company, and I talked to a Storm guy who had it done. He said on my 19'3" Gambler, it would cost me about $800 which isn't bad...................sa
