I have a 75hp Mercury with the QuickSilver controls.

I need to replace the trim/tilt switch in my 1994 TF170 throttle control lever.

The dealer said to order it, I need to remove the switch for matchup. I read somewhere that you remove the control assembly, then disassemble it to get the switch out. Looks believeable to me.

I'm losing my mind trying to get this out/apart. I have every screw/bolt out except for one, and that one is almost out. It doesn't appear any more likely to come out after/if I get that one out, either.

WTH? Anybody been there, done that?

I got it.

I dug around a little longer searching the internet. Almost broke it using one bit of advice. Found that if I push the "Neutral" button, and shift all the way forward, you can pry the "Neutral" button out. Then using a deep 18mm socket, take out the nut and remove the lever. Then the lever prys apart where a tab is located at the bottom of the lever.

Figured I'd enter this info, in case anybody is ever searching for it.
