How can I lock steering

I fish by myself a lot & have no one to steer my Maga 17 when I set my downrigger's

Does anyone know of a way to lock my steering so I go straight & not veer off to the

side. I have tried bunge cords & all that but none work.

ive thought about this in detail,could never think of a good one,since i had to adjust steering while running the riggers down on more than 1 occasion.try standing on 1 side or the other with the wheel turned just a bit.it helps somewhat,but have to be quick on the wheel if the winds catches the bow.
