hooking Garmin up to mercury motor.

I just bought a 2019 z19 sport with a 2019 150 pro xs, I read that they ran an extra plug to the dash on these boats to hook the Garmin's up to the engine to receive engine data . Anyone know if this is true or do I have to buy the extra stuff?

Have a 2021 Z19 sport with two Garmins installed by Tracker Service Center and no one ever mentioned it to me. Would be nice. I was told I needed Mercury VesselView, which I got.
