Help Needed

Need help in two areas.

1) Computer help. For some reason I have a spy ware warning on my computer home page. It states if I want to remove it, I must send my e-mail address and name. I am not going to do that, how can I remove it ???????? I tried everything, do not have much computer knowledge, so please explain in simple terms.

2) I cover my boat with a inexpensive cover. The boat is under my patio, and I cover it to keep the dirt, dust off of it. I live in Louisiana, so it is not winterized. Everytime I take the cover off I have mildew all over my seats. Can I do something to stop this ???

1) Do a search for "Spybot". Download it. It's free, and works great. I installed it on my computer, and it found quite a bit of spyware right away. It gives recommendations of what to delete, what the spyware program that is in your computer does, etc...

2) I'm from Louisiana, so I feel your pain. It happens in other areas of the country also, including where I live in Virginia. If you have a cover on a boat parked outside.... you are probably prone to getting mildew. I would recommend a dehuminifyer bar - like this one from BPS -

Here's Spy-Bot...a great program ...

Here's Ad-Aware Personal edition from Lavasoft....Another good one.

I use all three on a regular basis. Seems like some will pick up things that the others miss.

Goto Geekstogo.com and get started with them. They will clean up your PC for free. They have a forum that experts will tell you how to exactly remove all spyware, and its free.

I've installed spybot and ad-ware on my home and 4 office computers with nothing but good results.

I agree, Spybot and Adaware both work well for me. The first time you run them, it will probably take forever, but never any issues.

I'm not an expert, but I've been told that you don't want to have more than 1 "virus scanning" software program installed....not sure if that's the same with spyware....I use the ad-aware with excellent results...

need someone smarter than me to confirm or deny...

Never had a problem with Ad-Aware either, but I don't have it anymore since installing Norton Security Systems.



Moisture/mildew on boat seats: It may sound crazy, but I place Walmart plastic bags over the tops of my seats before putting the cover on the boat, and find the moisture on the bags instead of the seats. The bags also keep the cover from chafing the tops of the seats. Just one of the cheap fixes that I use
