Hoping someone has connections at Tracker....Last fall I posted a message on this site that my 2006 Avalanche was peeling paint off the hull. It was determined there was never primer applied causing the peeling, nothing to bond to. Tracker was GREAT and had the entire hull stripped and re-painted. It is now only been a little over 3-months since I got the boat back and the paint is peeling again, so far not as bad but still peeling. Ironically, the boat is also 3-months out of warranty...I was informed by my Marine dealer today Tracker looked at the last picutres and feels it is no longer their problem. Given the original problem was reported while in warranty and it has only been 3-months, the boat in my opinion has not been repaired correctly. I am hoping one of you can provide me an executive name at Tracker to speak with.

Thanks - Dan

Sorry to hear that Dan. Did you get any contacts through your last dealings? What does your dealer say about the paint peeling again? Your dealer will always be the first and best option. I would ask them for a Tracker contact. If it is a problem that wasn't taken care of during the warranty then they should listen to you. Might also go to a tin boat specialist to find out why this is happening....Then you have something to go on.

Almost seems like a problem with the aluminum that the paint isn't sticking. Or they just employ 1 really poor painter..

Toxic - No, no contacts from last time. Worked directly with the dealer/service department. That's an excellent suggestion to find a tin specialist. I just checked my email and the head of service at the dealer told he has gone back to Tracker for a 2nd round of discussions. My dealer is Marine USA, here in Ma. and I am working through Bob in service. Some of the site members may know him. He is excellent, will do anything for you and truely stands behind the customer. I will pass along his suggestion to him to see if he knows of a specialist. Even if it costs me a few bucks it's well worth getting an expert analyis.

Thank you

Dan

When I bought my 591 the saleman gave me a card of a vice-president at Tracker Marine Corporate in case I ever had an un-resolved problem. I've looked around but can't seem to find it but I'll bet one of the Nitro/Tracker salespeople who vist here could provide you with it. Could help....you never know.

Not that this helps but you must use an etching primer and paint on aluminum. If it was not done right the first time and the repair did not invovle an acid cleaning it will never stick.

Good Luck

Tee...i thought the answer to that was obvious.....Floyd is the one that's pink:eek::blink:

Dan, not that it matters but what color is your Avalanche? I had my Tundra painted by Marine USA last year with no problems. My Tundra was white.
