I have a 99 NX882 and am having problems putting it back on the trailer. When i dont put the trailer far enoungh in the water i almoast always have to winch the boat to get it all the way back in, and if i try lowering the trailer farther into the water, the boat seem to always run on top of the fenders. Will it help if i put one of those guide ons? And what would be a good Guide On for the type of trailer i have? Thanks

i have a 2001 882 and i was also thinking about putting guide ons on the trailer.i am pretty picky about the way things look, most of the guide on out there are really ugly they look aftermarket.the nicest pair i have found come factory on the tracker pro team 175-185 2002 model they should bolt right on to the trailer. as far as the price i have been waiting for my worthless local dealer in columbus ohio to call me back, its only been 4 weeks so mabey they will call soon ha ha ha. anyway i have a problem with the boat going over the fender also, i think the guides would help alot.

BRAD.

You did not say what type of trailor you have. Probably bunks not rollers. Driving or winching the boat on the trailor is normal. If you get the trailor in the water far enough to just pull it on with the ropes the stern will be floating off the bunks and will be pushed off to the side with wind or wave action. Seems to me you are already doing the correct thing. I drive mine on when there is not a sign saying "No Power Loading" or I winch it on if the sign is there.

I always leave my trailer a bit further out of the water. If I can power it up, I do. If not, winching it a few inches sure beats getting it hung up crossways on the fenders.

Hey Bong,

How long have you owned the boat? Loading takes practice and it sounds like you just haven't found that sweet spot yet. It's typically with the fenders just a 3 or 4 inches out of the water.

There is also nothing wrong with winching onto the trailer. I actually prefer a half dozen cranks to take up a foot or so. I could drive up closer but I have this awful vision of slamming my bow into the winch and breaking something.

good luck,

Marke

I have had the boat for over a year now. There are times when I can get it on the trailer without going over the fenders and there are times when I can't. I guess I will have to be a little bit more careful next time.

Brad, if you ever have a guide put on, please let me know how you like it.

Thanks for the info.

Bong, is it the same ramp every time? In NH some ramps are steep and deep and other ver flat and shallow. Sometimes I have to get my back tires wet to load.

just tryn' to help

Bong, I have a 2001 nx882 also, The way I load mine is to back the trailer in and wet the carpeted bunks all the way and then pull out enough to leave about 4 inches from the top of the fenders showing. Loads right every time. Hope this helps
