Hi guys i do not post on here very much but read it every day. I work with WAL-MART and it is time far us as a company to set up our new fishing set far 3003.All store will be doing this and some have already started. It is just up to the store when they start but all should have already. What i am getting at is this we are going to put the items that will not be carried in 2003 on sale. Some store may mark it down 50% some may just do 10%. So if u have more then one WAL-MART in your town look at all of them far the best price.Far it is up to each store to mark it as they see fit.Good luck and happy fishing from WAL- MART

cool..thanks scott,..there's a wallyworld right down the road from where i work!!...I'll stop in soon!!

Thanks for the tip, actually our Wmart has quantum casting rods for $9 to $15 and I think a few Lightnin rods and the FLW Spinning rods too, not much left though.....all marked down. Gonna go in the next week or so and check it out, thanks Scott G..... egMike

Like i said guys all may have not started yet but they will.Just keep your eyes open.

Just my luck---I already have at least one of everything in the fishing dept. at Wal-Mart. Thanks for the tip I'll check it out anyway.

Guys, one Wal-Mart isn't the same as the next. "Always the low price" crap is fine, they'll match anyone BUT another wal-mart. You can find the identical product (not on clearance) at two stores for a very different price. Clearance is worse. I would have expected a chain whose stores are ALL corporate-owned to have identical prices in every store. Silly me :(.

You said it silly you!!!!! Like i said all store have the power to set thier on prices.

thanks scott g. always like to find a good buy.

Stopped in at our local Wallyworld last night, (I HAD TO), came home from work to find the hood on wife's van up, and jumper cables on the driver's seat. (her battery was DEAD)After I got done lambasting her for ruining a perfectly good battery, and how could she let it go bad after just a couple years, etc., I pulled it only to find it was the original, AC Delco battery from 1995 when we bought her van, the battery in MY van is only a couple years old, oooooops!

So I walked over to fishing after gettin' her one of those yellow Maxx batteries, the clearance rods I mentioned earlier, were now all stood up in a large garbage can, and I found it such a hassle to try and get any of them out to look at I said forget it. They had line all marked down, but some of it may have been there a couple years and I get my line at bps anyway. But they did have some odds and ends dirt cheap, weights, walleye and crappie pre-rigged, carolina shortcuts, and some other terminal tackle. All in all it wasn't good, but our local Wmart never has been known for it's fishing dept. Now today, I'm going over to our local Super K, which has twice the fishing dept. of our local Wmart, and is closing soon, everything's 10-50% off, gonna see what falls into the cart, hehe. egMike

It wasn't too long ago - back in the early-80's - that K-Mart had a 27% share of all fishing tackle sold in the U.S.
