Does anybody grease or lube their steering cables as in a form of preventive maintenance before they get hard to move. Is there a way to do this, those kits I see for sale do not look like they would do the trick to me. Or are they a part you replace every so often?

Do you have a grease fitting on you cables? I seem to remember mine did, and that was how I was able to do it last year. Not sure though.

No, I do not have any fittings. I see that I can buy them and add on but don't know if they really work or not.

They do work. I used to have one on my 89 Winner. That was the last boat I had with cable steering.
