I am thinking of going to a pure bass boat from a pro v-16.

The Pro 16 is a nice general purpose boat with full windshield, radio etc. But it is a little cramped for fishing.

Anyone have any thoughts on this? Are people generally happy

with the Pro Team's? How is that flat bottom? Tough to deal with in choppy conditions. Any feedback on the 4 strokes?

I bought a PT175 about a year ago and am very happy with it. I've got a Merc 50 2-stroke on mine and get about 31-33mph out of it fully loaded. It cuts through the waves very well but is not as steady sitting still as a flat bottom or larger bass boats.

I've changed mine in 3 ways. Bought a fishfinder for the front (need to buy a different one for the back since it fades out in choppy water at full speed), added a mount for a GPS, and changed out the single charger for a dual (I fish a lot where I don't run the motor much and have to charge the cranking battery also).

I have a friend that has a Yahama 4-stroke. He swears by it. All I know is that it is much quieter and you don't have to put oil in it.

Tom-

You may want to consider the TV-18...

You still get many of the features of a deep V with all the features of a full-blooded bass boat...

Before you buy, take a ride in one if you can...

Yessir, the TV18 is the best of both worlds! Andy hit it right on the knoggin. The price is competitive with the Pro Team 185, but you'll spend a bit more than the 175 for a lot more room.

Tom - I've got one of the Rivited (2000 model year) 175's and have had no problems. Rides GREAT, but not as smooth in real rough chop as a deep V and very stable for me and my gang. The TV-18 is a bigger, wider and deeper boat but also a lot more $$ then say a 175 with a 40hp. I've got the 40 2 cycle, can't speak for the 4 stroke.

Only real problem is I can't get out as much as i'd like (365 days a year) something the wife keeps saying about working for a living! LOL
