Genmar status

Last week, Genmar was auctioned off.



Irwin Jacobs and a partner bought the Carver and Marquis brands (the yacht brands), while a venture capital group named Platinum Equity bought all of the trailerable boat brands, including the bass boat brands (Ranger, Stratos, and Champion).



Pending approval of the bankruptcy court...

My friend has a one year old Triumph, a Genmar boat. Does anyone know if that brand survived the sellout ? With a lifetime warranty on the hull I guess it is of concern.

I think triumph was bought by platinum, but jacobs retains the rights of the VEC technology to produce them....



We will know more after the 20th as all this could change.
