How long dose it take gel coat to cure before you can buff it out?

From what I have read about 30 minutes if:

- the mixture of gelcoat and hardener was mixed in correct %

- the temp and humidity is within specs ( see instructions on gelcoat package)

- you cover the gelcoat with wax paper or plastic wrap after applying, air will cause gelcoat not to setup correctly.

I am by no means an expert, but this is what I have read.

I was just curious.I chiped of a place about one inch in diameter.I was hoping they could fix it in one day so I wouldnt have to leave it over night.Thanks for the information.Thats what I get for having too much junk in the garage along with the boat.
