With all the talk of ethanol and bad gas I thought I would add my 2 cents! Boat sat fom end of Nov. till second week in April. Did not top off tank or stabilize, had about 7 gal. in there. Beginning of season I topped tank off with 15 gals., used Startron, Stabil, and Seafoam! Boat started right up and ran great! Last year was getting high 40's with me and my wife minimal gear. This year with ten rods a bunch of tackle and my 200 pound fishin buddy I have seen consistant low 50's on the Gps. The motor is running GREAT and I am shocked cause it is only a 75hp on a 94 Nitro 170DC!!! How is that for dialed in!!!!:D

Ive been syphoning (sp) gas out of my boats for about a week. Almost done. I can only recycle 10 gals a day at local landfill. So its time consuming, but still cheaper that $400-500 that some boat delaeers wanted to charge. The small boat wasnt bad, only about 9 gallons, the other- 40+, what a heart breaker to throw it away at about 2.80 a gallon, and now to replace at about 3.85 a gallon.

Oh well live and learn !

Bad Bass,

I would call you lucky! The Ethanol issue is no joke and can cause you some serious heart aches.

Why some engines are effected over others makes no sense. I remove all fuel to play it safe.

I just summer-ized my four snowmobiles and put the fuel in my boat. At 3.85 gallon for regular I just saved my self $100.00 and don't have to worry all summer wether or not my sleds will start next winter.

The fuel has a shelf life of ONLY 15 days. We are recommending to ALL customers to use a Marine Stabilizer or treatment with every fill. Sea-Foam has proven to be a great "magic elixir" and keeps things clean and stabilized. There is NOTHING you can do to prevent phase-separation other than to USE your fuel and replenish.

Bob,

The question has been tossed around a lot regarding seafoam. How can a product that is alcohol help fuel spiked with alcohol? If it is bad in on application why is it ok in the other? Personally, I used nothing but the Merc products but have heard the praises of seafoam shouted from the mountaintops....

TOXIC

I'd have to double check my MSDS, but I remember Sea-Foam being "oil-based". Here's a quote..."Sea Foam

I don't know that is a fact though, you might be right. Note 2 states that the abbreviation is used, but not clarified. HMMMM.....

All I know {and I am not a chemist}, is that it WORKS.
