Usually right on top of your tank. Most boats these day have the tank located below the seats. You have to remove your seats to get to it. Just don't use a lighter to see how much gas is in the tank!
Where do I go to get the sending unit? I see what I think you are talking about on top of the tank, looks like a round disc with screws and connector wires.
