I met and went fishin' with "King Tin", Michael Trepper yesterday evening. We didn't have a lot of time so we went to a small lake on the the Eastern Shore of MD. about 30 minutes from Annapolis.

We didn't get on the water until about 4:30 but almost immediately each caught a couple of small Bass. That was NOT a good omen because we then had to WORK for the rest we got.:) We did catch a lot of fish but nothing of any size.

It didn't matter though. Between watching the Bald Eagle and Osprey's fishing and correcting every world problem known to man, we had a great time.. Is was great meeting another N.T.O.W.S. member and Michael is "good people".

I may have to change his name however to "The Flash"..

No, not what you're thinking but because he is in constant motion. Toxic, he's got to slow down a WHOLE lot to fish those Senko's:), but he did get to see they work...

Also, like Toxic, he kindly brought me a present!

It's too bad he lives so far away because I would fish with him whenever he wanted to go..

He stopped over my house after we got home and we enjoyed a couple of "adult beverages". He then proceeded to get lost going back to his relatives house:):)

I had a great time Michael. Be safe traveling home and give my regards to your family..

Trep is truly good people. I've had the pleasure of knowing him for about 6 years now. Just wish I could pry him away a little more often so that we could go fishing.

Tex

"The Flash"! ROFL!!

Boy, have you got him pegged!

You think he was perpetual motion there.....

You ought to see him around his kids!

But I will tell you all..... You can't find a better person than Michael Trepper!

I've had the very good fortune to fish with him several times and to spend an evening with he and Rich just talking and "solving world problems"..... Some of the most memorable moments of my life!

I owe Michael a very, big "Thank you!" from back at the rally..... You all know I've got heart problems. Every time I had to carry something - the battery for the weigh-in scale, the scale, even my own tackle bag - Michael would grab it before I had the chance. Thank You, Michael Trepper!

me!

Bill - Beat me too the post, been on calls since 8am!

We did have a great time, i've never fished a small lake where you don't EVER fire up the big motor except to load it back on the trailer. We caught fish on Jerk Baits, Flukes, Rattle Traps, Senko!! Bill is a great guy and his wife Nancy is a peach! She brought us drinks and snacks outside and joined us for a chat! Realy a great couple and i'll fish with him anyday!

Wolf - Too Funny!! I ate 3 taco's at 3pm before I left so I didn't have to bring my FOOD!!! LOL

Tox - I gotta take some valum and try this senko thing. Watching bill SIT there and then see his YELLOW line go moving off before he set the hook was like watching a Pro TV show! I understand though to REALY go Toxic I have to have Hot Pink line??? LOL

Yup Solving world problems - We didn't agree on everything and sit somewhat on different political planes, but it was very enjoyable to talk openly and debate while still respecting each other. We talked about everything possible in 6 hours!! But i'd do it again if I get the chance!

Bill - The pictures are on a regular camera with 6 shots left, i'll try to finish those on the trip back tomorrow/sunday and see if I can get them developed early next week.

Thanks again bill for taking me CATCHING!!!

uuuuuggggghhhhhh....I shoulda known Bill would have told you that!! LOL!! BTW, the "hot Pink" has been retired. It was very visable above water (for senko fishing) but was also very visable underwater, no disappearing act here, what you see is what you get. No memory and great castability though. Gotta file a report with Buzz.

Tox, I have to admit I looked for that "Pink" line everywhere before settling on Stren Hi-Vis Gold. That seems to work fine so far. I have it spooled on ONE rod and you know what that's for:)

Wolf, I was out of sight of Trep a couple of times and I have noticed some bite marks on my steering wheel. Hmmmmm.

Staci and Tex, you guys have him pegged too. He's one of the good ones!

"King Tin", you are more than welcome and there is an open invitation to fish with me anytime you are able. I truly enjoyed the short time we spent together.

Bill

Tox and Bill - Your colored line on Senko's reminded me last night (after the beers) that I use green line on my fly line but NOT to attach to the fly. Would it be better on the Senko's to use a 2-3ft leader of mono (clear, blue or green see through) ahead of the colored line? I wouldn't use a swivel/snap just tie the 2 lines together, that way the fish don't see any line comming from the Senko BUT you CAN see the rest of the line to watch for movement? Just a question, i'll have to get me some Senko's and colored line now!!

Bill you won't find that line anywhere, Buzz sent me some to try, it is a German line. I use the Trilene Tournament Strength in Photochromic. Remember that thread about it being discontinued???? Thanks to some on this board, they rounded up some and sent it to me. I will have to find another when my "stock" (6 and 8lb. test) runs out.

TOXIC

Have you tried the Clear/Blue Fluorescent Stren? That's what I use when I'm bait fishing so I can clearly see nibbles on the line.
