Bought my first boat last september(tracker pro team 175), and have been chomping at the bit to go fishing. My son and I got some new rods and reels for Christmas and needed to pick up a few more items to get ready for spring. We went to the BPS store in Cincinatti on Saturday. What a place, I could have easily dropped as much money there as I did in Vegas. We had a blast and it was a good road trip for the two of us. My son just turned 8 and we're both chomping at the bit to go fishin in the new boat. We didn't get to take it out last fall due to registration problems but we're ready to go now. I asked my wife what she thought about me getting a job there, it's only about an hour and 45 minute drive. I could use the extra money to buy fishing stuff and was wondering if employees get a discount.

With an aggresive employee discount program, incredible work environment, informative associates and additional other great benefits, promoting a sport you enjoy with Bass Pro Shops is an exciting way to earn some additional income. (The previous statement sounds like something out of a brochure, yet it's true.) I've been with the company since 1995 in a variety of positions and have enjoyed the trip thoroughly! Stop by the store and ask for the Human Resources Dept. Fill out an application and have some fun!

I'm sure BPS has a form for you to sign that will direct deposit your paycheck to the store to pay on your tackle account.lol

I'll betcha that Marke has already submitted HIS form!

Getting my wages deposited into an expense account would work great. I spoke to one of the people working there and he told me it was a great place to work and all the people were really great. He overheard me tell my son that I'd be spending my paycheck in the store if I worked there, he kind of grinned and said it's easy to do. My son and I are planning another trip in soon and we can't wait to buy some more fishing equipment. I'm going to check up on getting a weekend job there when I go back. I hope they'll put me in the fishing dept. if I get hired.

Be careful and don't trade your fishing time for a part time job. You'll really enjoy all of the time you can spend with your son for the next few years. When they turn 13/14 they start having other interest that take up most of their time. You're in the sweet spot right now, enjoy it!

i remember my first trip to bps. i think i could live there! lookin forward to going to the classic in springfield this yr.

He loves to fish and I've got him involved in baseball, football and basketball. He's a daddy's boy and hates to go shopping with his mom and sister so I don't think I'll have too much of a problem, at least for a while. My teenage daughter went thru just what you said, but she's starting to come around a little bit. I'll let him bring his friends along if need be to get out.

Wish they'd hurry up and get the one built in Auburn, NY. Still three hrs away but better than the 12 hrs it took us to get to Cincinatti. God I loved that store.

Bob S. - Unfortunetly i'm traveling my 1 time a year this week and next, so can't check very often. Where in Indy are you? I grew up at 76th and Ditch road, went to North Central high. I now live in Atlanta but miss Indy!!!

Where in Indy do you fish? I never fished when I lived there ('72 - 91) but did ski/boat with friends on the lake (can't remember it but is was up north of Carmel up Meridian st.??

I live on the southwest side of Indy, off of Ky. Ave. I grew up in Southport and lived on a small lake near Morgantown during high school. Used to fish all the time when I was younger but haven't done much recently because I didn't have a boat. I went fishing with my neighbor in his boat and knew I had to get me one.
