Here are a few pictures of the new ride.....

Mmmmmmmmmm, pretty boat. I've always thought Triton made the best lookin' boats.

Harpo

The boat has a lot of options on it like hydraullic steering,Dual Pro charger, 74 lb MinnKota, Hamby Keel Protector, Jackplate, Space saver tongue, brakes on the trailer, rod organizer, tackle organizer, pumpout system on livewells, spare Tempest SS prop and a ton of other things. It's in a whole different league from what I'm used to owning. I've fished out of a ton of Tritons and always liked the layout and stability of the boats. Besides these boats hulls are made for speed. The hydrofoil on the engine gets this boat on plane quicker than any other boat I've been in.

Now we'll be able to tell the twins apart!

Steve is the one with bug bits & pieces all over his teeth!

Sweet ride, Al!

Hey man somebody stole your other widshield and the kicker motor... Oh, and your downriggers are missing, too....

j/k... That is a sweet boat. My friend Randy has a 21' Triton and it flies...

lol, I was showing my wife the pictures of your boat and the first thing she said was, "I guess he will be cleaning his garage so he will have a place to park his new toy". lmao at my wife

Al nice looking ride. You love the Triton. What year is it? Is it a Tr19? I have a TR21 and have no compalints so far.

Hey Al you and the Missus look pretty young in that one photo... I guess you have to sit on a phone book to see to drive...huh?

Al,

Nice rig, bud. Tell me about the foil. I've never seen one like that before. Is it tied into the main motor mount on the transom or jackplate? It looks alot like my SE300, but I'm afraid it's gonna make me wish I hadn't put four holes into my brand-new Opti... {sigh}

Casey

Greg, The 2 kids in the boat are my brothers kids. We have 2 young kids of our own had had all 4 of them in the boat, I guess they like the new toy too.

Nominal, The boat won't fit in the garage and my home owners won't allow the boat to sit in the yard so it will be stored in another location. The garage is pretty messy right now since I've been putting up shelves.

Rob, The boat is a 2002 Tr-186. I've fished out of the TR-19 and the TR21's -- they are all sweet boats. This deal was too good to pass up especially since I know/fish with the owner and know how well he took care of everything.

Septik, your right it is a SE300. At first I wasn't sure if it looked right on a motor of that size but if you can get over the way it looks it sure makes a big difference on holeshot.

Al - GREAT looking Motor, now that boat??? LOL!!!

You'll be flying in your tournaments! Hey just booked my class in Raleigh August 23-24, keep sunday the 22nd afternoon open if you can, i'll know my flight arrangements closer to early august! I'm hoping to in before lunch that sunday and if you are available we can SWEAT in the heat fishing!

Al,

Great looking boat. I stored my boat off premises for a year or so, and then moved it back onto the driveway (no problems with deed restrictions where I live).

Best of luck selling your other boat.

Tex

Thanks all for the great comments on the boat!

Trep, Right now I have that date open. Fishing is very tough in August but maybe we can hook up and do some fishing.

Texas Transplant, A lot of folks in our neighborhood have boats or campers and must store them offsite. I'm trying to get enough homeowners to agree to a change in the covenents that speaks to storing boats and other things at the residence. The problem is there are a lot of folks who don't own a boat and would rather not see them in the driveway or behind a fence where I used to keep my NITRO. Anyways we plan on moving to a bigger home in 3-4 years. I'll have the boat and my wife's Odyssey paid off by that time.

Here in the Charlotte area, just after 9/11, a homeowners group sued a resident for putting up a flagpole! Having vehicles and boats paid off, is certainly a nice thing. Down to 12 months on the wife's SUV (my tow vehicle), 24 months on my son's car (I'm still trying to remember/figure out why I'm paying for that), and also 2 years on the boat.

Right now, I'm on track for all of my debt (except for the house), being done within 24 months. I was close 18 months ago, until the roof fell in once again.

Where are the Nitro logos? That doesnt look like a Nitro to me!!! j/k!!

VERY NICE BOAT!!!!! I love the front where it has the two storage boxes. You'll love the hydro. steering!!

Again VERY nice rig......I'm jealous...whoa whoa did I just say that about a non-nitro boat.....well I've never ridden in a Triton so I don't have an opinion on one yet but from what everyone tells me is they are a first class boat!

Pic of my 2000 TX186, sold it last year. Super fast boat and that VMAX loved GAS.

Al,

I had that same boat but in TX model (see above ). If you decided to remove the fin, I ran a ( I believe ) a 26" Trophy Plus ( 4 blade ) on my VMAX 150, I found that to be a good setup for planing off and decent top-end.

Conch, It was a very tough decision when you look at the financial imapact but what the heck, you only live once. I think I'll hang around this site just as much and besides I need to redeem one for the glass boys at next year's rally. Glass will rule! I'll just have to do it in a TRITON!!! I'm coming to NY around the 4th. of July, let's hit the bay or Honeoye. I hope I can fish with you this time. See you in a couple of weeks......Al.

Al, very nice ride! I looked at a Triton fish and ski before I bought my Nitro. I decided to be cheap and I regret it now.

Teri, I went with what I could afford at the time when I bought the NITRO in '97. A year after having the boat and fish a lot of tournaments I knew I needed something bigger with more options on it but couldn't afford it at the time and besides the boat was paid off a year later so I keep it all this time. Even though every chance I got I was looking at new and used boats for sale. I wasn't looking for this one but the timing and the price were right so I did it and don't regret it so far. Now all I need is to get rid of my other boat and I'll be able to sleep at night! I learned to get what you want the first time if you can afford it. I have a feeling a Ranger is in your future.

Spring of 2006 to be exact !! It's already in the plans!!

Al,

Agree with you. I have gone the cheap route and regreted it. I now make the budget for something and try to buy to that. Maybe not overly smart, but I tend to keep stuff longer and not take a big soaking on thngs when I sell them.

Carlos

Mike, Hopefully you won't have to wait long. Will be heading to the lake 5:30AM tomorrow morning. I hope there is a topwater bite. Most of the fish are in a summer pattern so I guess it will be mostly crankbaits and C-rigs.

Sharp looking boat Al. Triton sure does make a fine looking rig. That is the same setup that I am dreaming about.I think that boat and motor combo would be perfect for the size lakes that I fish.

Good luck tomorrow, let us know how the maiden voyage goes.

Steve
