Hi
I am having my 1993 Evinrude 48SPL (48 hp) Powerhead completely rebuilt. I talked to the tech and told me I will have to run double oil mix (in other words 25:1 instead of 50:1) for 3 tanks (my tank is 12 gal). He said I will need to run for 3 hours at idle speed. then couple of hours at mixed sppeds but not completely wide opn yet. then change plugs and then I can finally run wide open. I read another guy's recommendation on here on how to break in an engine and it was completely different. what gives?? the guy doing my boat is established businesss and been around for awhile. I should follow his directions right?? for warranty??? thanks
