If I had a choice between ending the drought and pulling the .gov's hand off the spigot, I'd go the spigot route every time. Twice on Sunday.
They were asked repeatedly by various interest groups, going back several years, not to draw down the lake during the winter unless there were serious potential flood threats. They did anyway. The lake could easily be six to eight feet higher right now, had they simply listened to us ***** civilians. We'd have working ramps and marinas, instead of people closing up shop, going out of business, and the entire region suffering the consequences.
But what do we know?
