Hi Guys. This is off-topic for sure. But I want my buds on this board to be aware of a situation involving your tow vehicle. (or your wife's car) concerning those plastic O-ring type dip sticks for checking engine oil level (usually yellow).
My wife's 08 Avenger w/3.5 HO dipstick snapped off flush with the metal tube when I pulled it out to check her oil. It's because the plastic becomes brittle, swells and then breaks when you pull on the dipstick to check oil. (same thing with my 07 Ford Expedition). While you still have time .... pull out the dipstick and lube the yellow plastic insert with high temp. bearing lube, or something similar, to prevent this problem. It's a royal pain in the ass to extract the remainder of the dipstick after it breaks off flush with the top of the metal tube and you'll have to order another 'stick online. Trust me, it sucks.
Just a "heads-up" ....
