I have a nitro tandem trailer with the pressure brakes. My problem is that it is very difficult for me to release the hitch lever. It presses down easily but does not come up. I have to actually use the claw of a hammer to gently pry it up. I assumed it was just the ball so I replaced that but am still having the same problems. Any ideas? Any adjustments I can make?

Thanks.

You're not alone - mine's been doing that (or something like it) recently on my Ranger trailer. I was wondering if a little lubrication wouldn't help??

Jim, I know what you are saying and I actually do this to relieve the brake presure after backing it into the garage, but even after this and even if there is no presure on the ball, it still opens very hard.

Thanks.

It sounds like you need to lube it. I use a lube called Tri flow in mine and it reallt penetrates well and lasts a long time, much longer then wd40 would. if you have a ufp actuator check this link below, if about halfway down the page there is a piece on where you need to lube it. Basically its everywhere there is any sort of pivot point or joint.
