Well, I finally got to one of my goals for the year. When I joined my regular local Bass Club this spring - I set modest goals for my progression. Specially since I had not done any real serious fishing in many, many years.
Friday night, we launched on our loacl home lake (Wylie). It proceeded to rain like the dickens on and off most of the entire night. Thank goodness for a good quality gore-tex rain suit. Thank you BPS!
I put five keepers in the livewell and took them to the weigh-in. Nothing real big, but still weighed a limit! Best fish was around 2.8 lbs, and I only had to measure one fish. Just missed 'culling' the baby of the bunch. Hung a real nice 4-5 lber, but couldn't put her in the boat. Had her almost all the way to the boat, but then she reversed course and we attempted to do a 270 degree turn back around the bow. Third time on the surface and she did a little tail walk and out came the hook. I was finesse fishing and had on a wire hook. I must have horsed it just a little too much. Before making the 'turn', I had her about 1-2 feet from the net.
Note to self - buy a new net with a longer handle!
Anyway, I was very happy and content. Didn't even mind it when I ran the main battery down and had to do a little quick re-connecting from battery to battery. Thanks Tracker for a good design on the wiring! Made it easy.
Two fish were c-rigged fish (including the best), and the rest (including the one lost), off of slider jig's and worms. I'll give the update about the sliders on the existing thread.
Boy, that was a good feeling bringing a full bag to the scales.
