Here is another problem I had and cured. In Jan. 04. I bought a 2004 901 CDX with a tandem trailer. The rear axle bearing seals was leaking grease badly, I took back to the dealer in Mesa, AZ. and they replaced them saying the factory put in the wrong seals. Well they leaked just as bad going home, I checked to see if they overfilled them but they did not. In my old job I had replaced thousands of seals in 22 years as a mechanic in a different field. So I know they shouldn't leak besides the forward axle is just fine. I started looking at the forward axle bearing seals to see what if any differance there was between the front and rear bearing seals. And guess what there was a differance. The seals are they same, double lipped seals, The differance is that the factory put two 1.5 inch o-rings, 1/8"thickness, on the outside of the inner bearing seals. So I did the same on the rear axle bearing seals and Wha-La no more grease leaking out of the rear bearing seals. It's been two weeks now and no problems. I called the dealer and let them know what I found. They told me that they have been having a lot of trailers coming back due too leaky bearing seals at the rear axle. They really Thanked me since this should save them money and time. If you have this problem try the o-rings and it should take care of the leaky bearing seals. It Surprised me since I never seen this done before,,, easy cure! Good Fishin,,,The bass have been spawnin here!!
