Where can I get a copy of a boat ignition key made? Do I need to bring it to a dealership? I have a Mercury 200 Opt on my 20' Nitro. I bought the boat from Bass Pro about 6 years ago and I have lost one of my keys so I am down to one and I want some spares just in case.

Thanks.

Any locksmith should have a blank that thy can make a key from. When i had my 882 i bought it used and it only had 1 key. I broke it and my local locksmoth shop was able to make a new one from the two pieces i had. He didnt have any issues matching the blank up at all.

Great. Thanks Jim.

That was my plan, but just wanted to make sure before I drove to a locksmith.

I think Lowes has the blanks too. In addition, there should be a number on the key, I think you can order by that number as well from BPS service center.
