I need help. A while back, I had some computer problems. Someone told me to delete Tmp files, I did and now alot of my wife's stuff is gone. Is there anyway to go back with my computer a couple months and retreive these items.

Bubby

I did empty my recycle bin. Carlos I am sorry, I have no idea what OS means.

Bubby My wife just told me it is WindowsXP

Bubby,

click on start,

all programs,

accessories,

system tools,

system restore,

Then restore it back to before you erased everything.

It's simple because you can also jump back to taday if it doesn't work right.

Steve

P.s. creat a current restore point before you do anything.

It keeps telling me, I cannot restore to any point I choose. What should I type in for curreny restore point?

Bubby

Bubby,

for restore point description,it is just anything you name it to remember why you saved it at that point.

Such as "after I deleted wife's stuff" LOL

When you click on the restore to an earlier point, a calander will come up.Some of the dates are in bold type. Those are the restore points.

You can set it to automatically create these points. If you are like me and screw up the computer alot by deleting stuff, they come in handy about once a week : )

If you got rid of tmp files, my guess is that you won't get them back. TMP files are for the most part, considered just that - temporary.
