check out my library.got the boat home, took a few pictures of her.she looks great!posted a few while doing sme ebay packing and shipping.

also for all in the know, got a picture of the fuel lines, the kicker bracket, the voltmeter, the steering and throttle setup on the boat.

talked to craig friday.he is working on the origonal decal for it!they list it,hopefully he can get it.got a friend working on the registration # in green and red,for the bow of the boat.also got a idea for the back of the boat, but we will let it be a suprise.

going to start working on the decks soon.lowes has marine grade carpet in 6 diffrent colors.going with the grey again.marine 1/2"grade plywood isnt cheap, almost $20 a sheet.need at least 4 to do it up right.got to pull the livewell out to fix it,dead fish is kind of a penalty in a tournament, right!!found some body shop adhesive which should be good enough to patch it right.we use it on plastic bumper covers and fiberglass hoods with no problems,so far.

anybody got the new cabellas catalog yet?lots of toys in there for the fisherman this year!

we got rain here,so working on the boat home here is off for the weekend.friend i work with is building a consession trailer,so i told him i would help him out.his welding skills are ok,but he wans it to hold and kind of look pretty!!

Nice!! I assume you are in the auto recond business like myself. I just sold my Tracker to a friend and we are going to paint it. Could you tell me what paints and primer you used? I did paint a Sylvan A few years back and had no problems with Single Stage ENamel. it was all white so that made it easy.

well,i work at a truck body repair center,we repair morgan van bodies, grummnd, and supreme bodies.we also have a body shop there that does work on rigs,so i have access to many wonderfull tools!!

the paint, primer was all dupont brand,prime-n-seal was the sealer/base of the job.cant remember the #'s on it,but just ask for prime-n-seal.it is a 2 part primer though, needs an activator for it.it is quite expensive ive been told.there are a few diffrent options on the primer, there is a product called tuffcote, also dupont product.it is basically the same but a little more on the filling side.you should be able to do it all with a quart of it.took a qt on my boat. the paint was gmc white,i think the code was 617 on the can.it is a lot whiter than the origional, but i like it.the blue well, that is a mix of 2 pints of blue we had left over.

when sanding the origional finish, use 220 grit on a da sander.feather out all your scratches.any other body work you want to do do it now.

put on 3 coats of paint.it should cover everything very good.maybe a little hardner in it would be ok also.

if painting the stripe, such as i did, paint the base color, white as i did.then put your tape line where you want the stripe to go,wet sand the area with 320,then mask the rest of the boat off.spray your stripe(s) on.

i got to thank charlie,a guy i work with,he painted the stripe on for me,he is our painter at the shop.he is building a consession trailer, and i am doing the welding for him on it,so we are trading offr work between us.in other words doing favors.he thought up the stripe,i was going to leave it plain white, but he kind of talked me into the stripe, which is close to the color of the stripe in the seat!looks great, the only thing now is it looks like a starcraft, seen a chieftan on ebay, and they have basically the same stripe on it!oh well, the look on peoples faces when i tell them its a tracker will be priceless!!

Hey...It looks great...I notice you don't have your spare trailer tire mounted underslung...I put a side mount on and have cut the metal frame out from under the trailer...Just hit things (like driveway apron) too many times...I am adding a large (31"deep, 14 1/4" high)casting deck with live well at the back...I'll post some photos... I love the boat..

greg,i carry the spare in the back of the truck/van.this way i know it wont get swiped,or falling off.my carrier fell off with the tire in it.the thing dragged for quite a few miles before we stopped, the tire was dead, the carrier broke off with a small kick of my boot.i dont have the decks in the back like you are putting in,i kind of like the depth when running the riggers, plus we are using a cooler for a livewell for the salmon, too hard to get them out and in the one thats there now.im working on a bow cover for it this year.i have the material and the snaps to do it.just waiting on the wife to sew the seams for me.did you check out the other pictures of the bracket and such?kind of to give you an idea for yours.

I saw this neat idea at a launch ramp..some boats though may not have room to do this... A guy bolted his spare tire on thetrailer tongue with the valve facing the ground. He cut a piece of plywood into a circle and laid it atop the spare tire bolting it thru the lug holes. Non Skid Grip Tape was on top of the plywood.. Seemed to work great as a step to aid in launching in shallow water.

I had a "bow cover" on my former 17' Starcraft...Had a zipper from about 8-10" from the front back to the windshield...Made mounting it in a hurry a "snap" :)...I loved it for really bad water...I am also getting a full height camper top built...should be almost as watertight as a submarine...

click on the m next to my name, then library in user profile.should bring it up.i just did.

i wish i could go fishing, need registration #s and a few other things, such as warmer weather!!its in the teens here now.

craig, its kind of a shame tracker doesnt have any decals in stock, but i guess ill have to rely on a few local graphic artists, depending on how good they are.oh well, guess you cant have everything!!

greg, can you take a digital picture of your magna19 decal,i got a picture of mine, but it is a little fuzzy, need a clear one.i know my friend can use it,but a clearer one would help.

now the fun stuff comes in.mounting downriggers, the decks, what to use on them.its 1/2 plywood, but to use pressure treated with marine carpet over it,or take and polyurethane it then carpet it?anybody got any ideas?i was going to use fiberglass reinforced plywood, but its is expensive, and you would have to seal the edges real well, with fiberglass resin, then carpet.too time consuming, and expensive.the other plan was the aluminum floor and carpet over it.the tundra has that doesnt it?heard rumor to that on the walleye message board.

greg,in my library is the waves we were in on lake ontario, that was a fun ride!!wouldnt want to do it again though!!those walls are 10ft high.

ill check wih my decal maker this weekend.i was hoping a jpf format,so i can get one printed out so he knows what i need.

thanks.
