Worked on my boat a little on Saturday getting a few things ready for a fishing trip next weekend & heard my Dual Pro SE buzzing. Fairly loudly too as I could hear it standing next to the boat & all the compartment lids were closed. Is that normal? I don't recall hearing it before, but never also paid attention if it was or not. It is a little over 2 months old, but has only been plugged in inbetween boating days for about the last month or so...

Do you have a really low battery? Sometimes they will buzz when delevering a heavy charge. In any case, I would keep an eye on it and when it goes, get a GUEST.:) Somebody had pics of a charger that toasted the rear of his boat and almost caught it on fire. In my case, I can't afford to have one flame on when it is mounted next to a 57 gallon gas tank.

Mark, I had a Dual Pro on the Nitro and it always hummed. I have a Guest in the Astro and it humms too, but not as loud. I keep my boats plugged in and covered. To make sure the charger is working without taking off the cover, I would just put my ear to the boat and I listen for the charger. The Dual Pro was an excellent unit, and so far the Guest is serving well too.
