CAPS LOCK

I hope I can say this without ticking anyone off, but could I ask that folks refrain from over-using the caps lock key? I always get the impression that I'm being yelled at when someone types in all capital letters.



Type in all lower case if you want. After all, even the great poet e.e. cummings did! :^)



Use the caps lock if you're really yelling at somone.

Does it bug you when someone does something like..



"Man, I REALLY wanna go fishing this weekend. I've heard that the fall bite is on BIG TIME!! Rumor has it they're absolutely SMASHING topwater baits, so I'm really STOKED about it!! WAHOO!"



That's my general style of online writing.. Pretty much wherever I might underline something, put it in italics, bold it or something like that in a normal wordprocessor, I just UCASE it here.. Is it THAT annoying?? (Sorry, couldn't resist! LOL! wait.. lol! hahhaahahaha!)

In short, NO. Using the caps lock to emphasize a particular word is like using voice inflection. We don't speak monotone, so I don't expect folks to type mono-style. But if its in all caps or in all lower case, its too easy to misread someone's attempt at humor as a serious personal attack.



I don't think folks use the all caps button all the time intentionally, but I don't want to say why I think they do because I can be wrong.



Like I said, I didn't want to offend anyone.

The whole schmuckamaroo with Rob and Tom Mac has me down. It hard to see humor in much right now, so I'm bailing out to go fishing.

btw, mo..... i was just funnin' ya! i don't like it when people use all caps, either. but the reason i don't is that i find it difficult to read - my old eyes need sumpthin' to help break things up so that i can distinguish the words!
