Cody and I had our weekend of fun. We camped in the backyard on Friday night. BAD idea! The ground was good and firm (normally good for my back) however, in the early AM, it rained and the damp air did me in. I could hardly move come morning. The weather cleared, and with some serious meds.....so did my back! We hit the lake at about 9:30 am with my mom, the "fishing machine" with us, Eagle claw aberdeens, bobbers, and night crawlers galore! Note to board, under NO circumstances, should you EVER forget 2 containers of nightcrawlers in your livewell for 2 days in 90 degree weather. If you do, hire some unsuspecting neighbors kid to open the hatch and throw them away! LOL I have done this before, but somehow managed to do it again! Duhhhhh! Anyhow, we finally located a NICE school of sunnies, bluegills, perch and crappie in a marina boat slip, and there we sat for 2 1/2 hours yankin nice panfish. Cody wanted to go buy more tackle for his new HUGE tacklebox that Buzz gave him, so I told him he had to earn the money, and could then buy whatever baits he wanted. Well, he made about $20 and let me tell you, this 4 year old has a nicer box and collection of tackle than I did when I was 18!!! Of course raiding MY tackle bag when I'm not looking has helped him a little. Smart kid, wonder where he gets it from? We were "cool dude buddies" the whole weekend. He wouldn't let me out of his sight. Even for bathroom breaks, it was "wanna pee race daddy?" LOL He usually won! LOL

Great job Rob, I too notice my worm bag shrinking while Eli and Noah's tackle boxes are growing!!!

Keep him going at he'll be with Greg's kids at the casting finals in a few years!!

Good going DAD!

I'm sorry but life just doesn't get any better than that!

Except I've got two teens that still like to get into my tackle box.Looking at there boxes I often find tackle I thought I'd lost!lol And then there is the mystrey of the the disappearing boxes of shotgun shells . having the same interests with your kids have some draw backs....mostly good ones though.

That and, my kids are both fearless! My little girl scares me the most. She's a BRUTE! She's into a head butting stage right now. If it causes you pain, she thinks it's hillarious! And a temper, man oh man. She gets that from her mother for sure! Whenever my wife gets to naggin a little, I just break out the snow goose calls and let each of them have one, and tell them to "go practice". I then promptly leave the house for a few hours! Nagging stops quick. Tell ya though, when they get older, I have a pair of dec callers like you wouldn't believe! LOL

Rob,

Can Cody work a Doe "Bleet"? If so send him down my way for archery season....LOL

Yeah, and a grunt call! But he's already "booked" for deer season! LOL
