Helllllllo...I recently purchased a PT 165. Might sound stupid, but is it possible to put the plug in the boat from the outside? I mean, I know that it's "possible", but will it keep water out? Getting to the hole from the inside of the boat is a pain in the bum; just trying to keep life simple, and well, lazy. Thanks!

You bet. You can buy plugs that insert from the outside. They have a little "T" handle that you turn to snug 'em up tight, and turn the other way to loosen 'em back up to take 'em out! I've got one on my TV-18!

Once it's in there snug, water pressure trying to get INTO your boat also helps keep it snug. But if you don't tight it up, vibration can cause it to fall out. Bad news.

Mo..... Is this your way of gently breaking the news to us that Rachel is pregnant?

LOL!!

Thanks Mo; I actually have that type of plug. That'll make it much easier.

God forbid!!!!!! She's got enough problems raising me and teaching me to put my own "toys" away when I'm done with them. Nope, the little kids and boat story is on the board somewhere. No real damage, but ya kinda dirty yer drawers when you turn your back and hear that sound.

Dawg: No problem.

been using the screw type, brass style for 7 yrs now.still using the origional plug that came with the boat, never had it come loose,or leak.i have 2 others as spares, but never had to use them.neighbor uses the one with the long handle you flip uo to lock on an islander, and his previous boat the same style, has not had a problem with it either, just he has to remember to put the handle up!!
