Well, bad news got worse on Saturday. While at a business meeting, my wife (accompanied by her step dad) went to the mortgage office to sort out all of this "crap" that has come up. Well to make a long story short, we needed another 10K!!!!!!!! That they "forgot" to mention during the bid. We cancelled it! Everytime I turned around, someone had their hand in my wallet and was helping themself to a grand or two! This gives me the chance to find something closer to the lake! And have enough left over maybe for a truck too? Sorry guys, no guest apt for the rally!

You must be very disappointed, Rob.....

For whatever it's worth..... I found over and over again in my life that, whenever I've lost something, I really didn't need it as much as I thought or it was always replaced by something even better suited to me.....

God bless!

no doubt,.....sometime i'll tell you what happened with us when we got the house we're in now!! Too long for this post, but it can easily be told over a C&L..!! LOL....You'll do just fine!! Relax!!!!

You know, it never ends! We tell the realtor and mortgage officer we are cancelling and EVERYBODY (under the now real threat of losing commissions) go right to work for us, trying to solve all the problems and get us in there. I give up! It's no stinkin wonder people get stressed during home purchases! Could they make it any more complicated? I need a beer and to go fishing!

Rob,

Ever since they made prostitution illegal...a lot of people picked new professions...same behavior...just a different business card!

If you'd like some "friendly ear time", I am very experienced in real estate...I used to be the C(hief) F(financial) O(fficer) for a real estate syndication firm...

Isn't it amazing what people will do when they think their reputations are on the line?? When my wife and I were buying our house,...they didn't know that my Dad was a retired banker who started his career in mortgages and had 30+ yrs experience etc..etc......well.....when it came down to crunch time and final dollars and cents,...that's when I played my "Dad card" and called him.....he told me "What to say and When to say it,.....How to say it and Who to say it to!!"......We closed the deal that day and we saved 7grand over our intial offer!!!! And then my folks bought us 6 new bar stools for my basement bar......he was my HERO!!!

And low and behold of Mr. Neeley didn't bestow that exact same knowledge on the sales and Pro staff at last years boat shows!!....We deffintely fed off his energy!!...ahaahahah,.....and here's the best part,.....BOTH of their names are Ken!! When Ken's speak,...people listen!! Atleast I do!!..LOL

OKay Neeley,....enough pumpin' of your ego,...now get to work slacker,......we gota kick some arss this weekend!! Hang in there Rob,...you'll be golden in no time!!

Is my boat back yet??..LOL!!...Hey,..maybe we can borrow those red shoes from MO,...we can walk on water in those badboys!! We don't need no stinking boat!!!!

This thing just took another turn! Trying another mortgage company! This is actually funny! If we get into this place without donating any organs, you guys can come over and it's C&L's on me! We won't be much for Sunday's tourney, but we'll have fun! Yesterday afternoon, I was so bummed, I was out on my back deck with my trusty ole pitchin stick, lobin' a jib into a can and washin away the winter blues with some Coors. My wife just looked out at the pitiful sight. Then I told her "No house! Job sucks! That's it, I'm going to Detroit with a resume to give Neeley and Tracker and see who'll have me!" LOL Now who knows. You know what, I don't even care, give me a tar paper shack that stays dry and warm, a cold beer, a good dog at my feet, a 4X4 and let me fish every day and I'm set for life! Yeah, maybe my wife can come visit from time to time! LOL

Make it a two-bedroom shack and I'll split the rent with you, Rob!!

Sorry to hear about your house prob's. Like someone said earlier, there's a reason for everything. If meant to be, a solution will appear or, maybe, an even better house at an even better price will hit the market.

I've been in your shoes before and, looking back on it, very happy with the way things turned out.

Keep your head up AND keep pitching that jig! We need you to be happy AND catching fish!

Hang in there Rob, everything happens for a reason. Just means something better is coming your way. Be patient and you'll see. Been There and back, placed a purchase order on an old 100 Yr old Stone House. Owner agreed to the purchase price verbally. Two days later he sold it to someone else for cash. Best thing that ever happened to me.

The place turned out to be nothing but a money hole for the new owner. He sold it sixty days after he bought it. I bought a bigger house for less money and in much better location and in better shape. P.S. looking to hook up with you before the rally to take a trip around that end of the lake. I've only fished the south end. Give you a chance to take my new Avalanche out for a ride. Jim

Hang in there Rob. Something good will come out of all of this. You can't see it now but in time you will. Just remember you're only allowed to feel sorry for yourself for an hour then you need to move on with the positive to be productive. Make something happen either on this house or another. If nothing else your pitchin might get better.

Thanks guys, my wife and I talked and called off the house. In reality, it was in a town called Peru, south of Plattsburgh. I grew up north of town near where the rally will be. It has been my dream to go back up there. As many of you will see in tow to the launch, it is beautiful country and the lake is right in the back yard. My wife after I finally explained to her WHY I wanted to be back there consented to get a house there. There is a 2 story plantation (in the north?) style home right on the Chazy river where it meets a feeder creek, next to a bridge, with a rockpile and boathouse!!!! Can you say textbook! Big wrap around porches, and you can literally cast from the back one. I am going to look into it immediately. If it's God's will, it will be! As far as the pitching goes, well, let's just say, I'm ready for a tank test at BPS if that is my subject of discussion.

Bring your rod and reel this weekend...my lake is open!!!
