After twenty-two years of working, I finally got a M/F day job with weekends and holidays off. It's still a little of a shock and I'll still keep my part-time job but I won't have to do night shifts on a regular basis. Now the question...
I've been fishing for bass in a club for about three years now. I've learned a lot from reading and fishing with friends since I got serious about bass. I have a friend that has been fishing the BFL for about three years and has done quite well. He says it's a great learning experience and he is telling me that I should make some trips with him this year since I'll have the time and schedule to do so. While he thinks that I have the knowledge and skill to start fishing in these bigger tournaments, I'm not so sure. I like to travel, fish in new places, and enjoy fishing. I've never fished with anyone that ended up being a bad experience (personality wise). So, what I am asking is this. Can I go and fish in these tournaments, gain knowledge and have a good time with what I perceive is limited fishing ability on my part. I have noticed that spending more time on the lake rather than at work has mad me a better fisherman. I hope to spend a great deal more time on the water starting this year. Is the BFL a good investment to make me a beter fisherman?
Thanks...
